Partnered with Fleet Feet and using state of the art 3D foot scanning machines, KARHU builds its shoes off real runner foot data. As a result, KARHU delivers a footwear collection built by the runner, for the runner. We like to call it “every runner’s rights.”
In 1919 Karhu was founded by Ab sportartiklar Oy in Helsinki. The company name was changed to Karhu in 1920, the Finish word for “bear”. In 1960 Karhu registers the famous M-logo, meant to represent “Mestari”, the Finish word for “champion”. In 1970 Karhu develops the first patented Air Cushion midsole. In 1986 Karhu develops the Fulcrum technology alongside the Univ. of Jyväskylä. Karhu represents a tradition of sport & innovation.
