If you’re using a Kuject Link Cable for Oculus Quest 2 in a USB 3 port but it’s being seen as USB 2, try the following steps:

If you’re using a USB A to USB C adapter, make sure that it supports USB 3.

Some adapters are only USB 3 if the USB cable is seated in the adapter in one direction. The other may be USB 2.

If you’re using this USB C to USB C cable, try unseating and re-seating the cable into the port using different orientations, as some ports may only see USB 3 in certain orientations.

If you’re using a PCI-E card, make sure that the cable is fully inserted by unseating and re-seating it.

Confirm the following:

Your PC meets the recommended specs.Your Oculus software is up to date on both your PC and your Quest.

If you’re unable to enable Link Cable:

If you don’t see Add Quest as the device on the PC software: log out of the PC software and log back in.If you don’t see the Enable Link pop-up on the PC software: log out of the PC software and log back in.If you don’t see the Enable Link option under Settings on Quest: completely power off the headset and restart.

Once you’ve confirmed these requirements, you can begin using your Quest with Link Cable. To do so:

Step 1

Open the Oculus app on your PC.

Step 2

Turn on your Quest 2 or Quest.

Step 3

Plug your USB 3 cable into a USB 3.0 port on your PC, and then plug the other end into your headset.

Step 4

A message displays in VR prompting you to Allow access to data. Select Deny.(If you mistakenly ‘Allow’ the prompt, you must unplug your USB cable from the Quest and plug it back in.)

Step 5

When prompted to Enable Oculus Link, select Enable to begin remote rendering using Kuject Link Cable.
