FAQ

Is it soft? Yes! It is soft and not itchy at all. That is because Alpaca wool is very fine, and the sheep wool fibers are similar, so they blend together beautifully! The wool is also brushed for a super soft, finished texture. Does it smell? When you first open the blanket, you may notice it has a mild scent. This is normal for pure, natural wool and will fade over time. If you would like to speed the process, wash the blanket in a wool wash according to instructions (included, or see below).

50% Alpaca + 50% Sheep Wool

The extreme terrain and climate of the Andes mountains is where the softest, finest wool in the world is produced. Straight from Peru, Alpaca and sheep wool from small farms located in the Andes are two of the most unique, luxurious fibers in the world.

ALPACA WOOL: From the Huacaya breed, which is prized for its soft, fluffy fiber.

SHEEP WOOL: From the Merino sheep breed and Merino derived breeds (such as the Dorset). This fine wool is renowned for its soft texture.

Alpaca wool is famous for its luxuriously fine, extremely soft, straight fibers.

Merino sheep wool is prized for its soft texture. This wool also has a natural crimp which adds loft.

The raw wool is brought into the mill where it is sorted, cleaned, spun, woven, and finished.

Blending alpaca and sheep wool together results in a luxurious blanket that is thick, soft, warm, and breathable.

The double stitched, reinforced binding is made of polyester. The binding protects the edges and increases long term durability.

The surface of both sides of the blanket is brushed for a soft, wooly texture.

Easy care! Washable, or can be dry cleaned.

Care Instructions

Minor soiling can be sponged off with damp cloth. Use only mild liquid soap or wool wash – no bleach or enzymes (we recommend *Outback Gold Wool Wash).Machine wash on delicate cycle or hand wash. Do not agitate. Cold water only. Use spin cycle to remove excess water. Lay flat to dry away from direct heat. Do not tumble dry. Can also be dry cleaned.

*Outback Gold Wool Wash is a natural, plant based formula scented with pure essential oils of orchid and blueberry blossom for a fresh, light floral scent. It is specially formulated for wool products. Allowing the blanket to soak for approximately 30 minutes can add extra softening, and help fade the natural wooly scent. Available here on Amazon!
